Brian has been in the addiction/mental health field since 1993. He has been described as practical, realistic, and down-to-earth therapist who is naturally inquisitive and goal oriented. He brings his warm and light hearted sense of humor to the therapy process, as he has learned that the best way to lead a person toward wellbeing and happiness is to make the psychotherapy process relaxed, enjoyable and non-judgmental. But when necessary, Brian has a serious side, as addictions are for many, can be a life or death problem.
Brian relies on several different psychotherapy approaches as he believes not all individuals are the same and require different interventions. Whenever possible, he uses evidence-based practices and trauma informed care. He strives to have an immediate impact on his clients so that he can expedite their goals and desires for a healthy lifestyle.
"I believe therapy is an intimate form of learning which demands a therapist who is willing to be authentic, compassionate, accepting, and collaborative in the therapeutic process. Every one of my clients deserves to have their story heard from their perspective and be actively engaged in the process of change."
