About
Reaching out for help requires vulnerability and courage. To honor that, I both (1) strive to foster a nonjudgmental, collaborative atmosphere where you feel comfortable sharing at your own pace and (2) ensure that our work together is grounded in empirical evidence. I consider it a privilege to hear about people’s lives and be a part of their journeys. I have witnessed the significant pain that attends mental health issues and so have a great deal of compassion for individuals who are struggling. I firmly believe that people can find more peace and meaning in their lives and move toward their aspirations.
I am a clinical social worker, having practiced psychotherapy in various settings over the past decade, including as a therapist supervisor. More recently, I teach clinical coursework as an assistant professor at the University of Mississippi. My research there focuses on sexual behaviors that people find distressing, such as unwanted pornography viewing.
Our work together can cover a myriad of concerns, including anxiety, depression, OCD, faith struggles, life transitions, perfectionism, and trauma. We may focus on your relationship with your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and formulate goals that align with your values and empower you to transcend your challenges and define and live a meaningful life.
