Hi, my name is Brettny (pronounced BRIT-nee). I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 6 years of clinical experience working with individuals with Addiction, Anxiety, Depression, Coping Skills, Stress, and other mental health issues. My top modalities are Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Mindfulness-Based, Motivational Interviewing, Supportive, and Multicultural therapies. A little bit about myself: I enjoy gaming (PC, mobile, and board), delicious food (pizza, soup dumplings, crawfish, my mom’s chicken biryani), cooking, baking, cleaning, and snorkeling.
I make sure to work with clients on what they want to work on and how they want to work on it. I have an empathetic and active listening style. I will let the client speak freely, and when they're done, I check for understanding. Successful care for the client involves them making a goal with me that applies to their situation.
I currently do my sessions via Telehealth. The first session is always an intake session where I ask a lot of questions about the client's life. There are questions on what the current problems are, so the client will get a chance to talk about what is going on. Thereafter, the client would be able to speak freely in all of our sessions.
