Hello, my name is Brett Johnson and I have worked in mental health since 2006, first providing direct care. I received my a BA degree from Albion College in 2009, and served in the Peace Corps from 2010 to 2012 as a youth development volunteer in Bulgaria. Following my Peace Corps service, I worked as a case manager for adults who receive mental health services from 2012 to 2020. I received my MSW degree from Western Michigan University in 2020 and I have worked as a clinical social worker and therapist at Peaceful Mind Counseling Services since then.
With a lot of experience working with adults and adolescents, I use an eclectic approach to therapy, drawing from many therapy models to help you identify effective treatment strategies. I utilize CBT, DBT, strengths-based, solution-focused, trauma-informed, mindfulness, and other interventions to help you move toward healing and overall well-being.
I have completed level 1 Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy. I take pride in my ability to easily connect with others and am devoted to collaborating with you in ways that best meet your needs. I look forward to being there for you and providing a safe, comfortable atmosphere for you.
