Fundamentally we are interconnected with our world and those around us. For better or worse, the nurturing or traumatic experiences we have shape our beliefs about ourselves and the world. As children, we demonstrate innate capacity for creativity through the strategies we develop to get our needs met or simply survive. When later our circumstances change but our strategies do not, we may begin to feel inadequate, broken, isolated and cut off from ourselves. We may come to the conclusion that the world is unsafe and others can't be trusted.
Out of our sense of separateness, our belief in our inherent flaws, and our inability to "fix" ourselves, we may become hopeless or nihilistic and enter into depression. We may become preoccupied with hiding our flaws or shielding our wounds from the world and experience anxiety. We may become focused on distracting ourselves and experience addiction.
If this narrative resonates with you, you are not alone. If you are ready to reconnect with your fundamental nature which has the qualities of freedom, generosity, creativity, compassion, and love I would love to support you in doing so.
