Life can throw challenges our way when we least expect it; some simple, some not so simple. If those challenges are too complex or come in rapid succession, one can easily begin to feel overwhelmed, hopeless, and lose the ability to cope. Sometimes, the challenge might be the quiet pain of living with mental illness. In my experience, most people just want to live their lives and be in control of their emotions, so they can cope with whatever life throws at them.
I have three decades of experience taking care of people who were sick or injured, so caring for others has been a way of life for me. As a therapist, I have experience treating clients with a variety of problems, including depression, anxiety/panic, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, grief and loss, trauma, just to name a few.
I see each of my clients as unique individuals whose problems require an individualized approach. The therapist/client relationship is built on mutual trust, something I take seriously. I strive to create an environment that is safe and judgment-free where my clients can explore issues that might be painful or difficult to talk about.
