Brent Pace
Clinical Social Work/Therapist, MSW, LCSW
I believe that many who walk through my door already have most of the answers to the challenges they are experiencing. My role is to remove the obstacles keeping the individual from success, while providing insight and various skills for faster healing. I also believe that none of us get through this life without some trauma. For this reason I often use trauma-focused mindfulness in sessions and, where appropriate, teach mind-body skills such as meditative breath and guided movement to counter the effects of that trauma.
I've learned to acknowledge and honor the remarkable resilience of every human being. I've also learned that trauma doesn't have to result in a life sentence of misery. In fact, trauma can be used as a motor that helps drive transformation, healing and growth.
I believe I have a unique ability to understand and treat institutional abuse and its resulting trauma. (I feel it's important to note here that, though I'm not currently LDS, I am very knowledgeable regarding Mormonism and keep up-to-date on their stance on LGBTQ+ issues.)
