Despite our strengths we can feel stuck, unable to move forward with a life that aligns with our goals and values. We often continue using coping skills that were once helpful but now no longer help move us through the more challenging and unexpected issues in our lives. Together we identify these familiar yet unproductive styles of coping with compassion. I use techniques that approach difficult thoughts and feelings without fearing, fighting or running from them while being able to address them with acceptance.
I utilize several techniques to address the unique needs of each individual. I also address past experiences to understand current concerns; not to feel stuck but to empower individuals to move beyond painful life events and cope with current, possibly related thoughts and feelings, particularly when we make a mistake or feel vulnerable.
I specialize in working with issues of anxiety, depression, abuse, and excessive rumination. I often address areas of self-criticism and self confidence that can be accompanied with both guilt and shame. I have over twenty years of experience providing services to individuals.
