If you have struggled to find effective therapy and regulate your emotions I may be the therapist for you. I have a strong passion for intersectionality, trauma, minority experience, and people underserved or poorly served by our mental health systems. I am most interested working with folks at one of the intersections of LGBTQIA+ identity, neurodivergence, and trauma providing respectful, culturally humble and non-judgmental care.
I work from an emotion regulation framework, that many of the difficulties people face stem from ineffective regulation of their emotions. I primarily use Dialectical Behavior Therapy. My core guiding principle in therapy is that all behavior makes sense in context, and if I do not understand you then I must be missing context.
I want to meet you where you are at and there is nothing more important. You are an expert in your life and I will never know as much about you as you do. I want to listen to your story, understand your struggles, and create a safe relationship where you can work on the change you want to see in yourself.
