I ventured into the counseling field because I found a knack and passion for working with folks walking through difficult times. From there, I felt this passion flourish into a calling. I work as both a professor and clinician, teaching the fundamentals of counseling to my students while practicing what I preach in the clinical setting. My clients describe me as caring, empathetic, insightful, intelligent, and funny (counseling without a well-placed sense of humor is a rather drab experience for the client and the clinician!). I am now excited to offer my services through Perez Therapy, LLC.!
I have experience across a number of different settings and people groups. I've worked extensive with families and couples, folks living with addiction issues, eating disorders, trauma, grief and loss, and stresses that arise from being queer (a community of which I myself am a member) in a hostile society.
