Hi, I'm Brandi! I graduated from Ohio University with my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2017. I have worked as a family based intensive treatment counselor, crisis counselor, and as an outpatient counselor with adults. I work with adults who have experienced trauma, family estrangement, issues in relationships, grief, depression, anxiety, or struggle with intense emotions. I have been trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
I am openminded and use warmth and humor in my sessions. In session we may be learning and practicing various skills, exploring and processing your experiences and emotions, untangling the metaphorical yarn of thoughts, or it could be bringing insight to unhelpful patterns that take you away from your long term goals.
I believe we are the experts of our own lives so as a counselor I am here to help you best help yourself. My goal is for you to leave sessions feeling heard, seen, and accepted. We are all just humans trying to do our best and forget to give ourselves some grace in the process. I hope you leave sessions with a little bit more kindness toward yourself.
