I became a therapist to hopefully live up to the old adage of "leave the world a better place than you found it". I believe the world needs people who are passionate about supporting, listening, encouraging, being kind and holding safe spaces for honest vulnerability and truth. This is where growth and change exists. When we heal we can become who we once were and or who we wish to be. I enjoy asking questions and encouraging you to share feedback. It's very important that we walk side by side in the therapy space so I can really show up to support you.
It's important that you feel comfortable to share what you feel and think for the best outcomes of our work together. Therapy is also about building new skills, openness, considering your mindset and emotions; often coping tools are also indicated for progress in therapy. Effective therapy means working well together as therapist and client.
Some things that demonstrate likely progress for collaborative work is for the client and therapist to feel that working together is a good match. If the client feels safe to speak honestly and openly about what they are coming to therapy to resolve, it's a great way to build goals for treatment and to have us jointly observe progress.
