Using neurobiological treatments such as EMDR and Brainspotting, we'll dive deeper into the roots of your emotional pain—far beyond what typical talk therapy can reach—accelerating your journey to heal.
Insurance not accepted; Cash pay only. Do you excel as a student, wife, mom or professional, yet find yourself silently struggling with deep-seated anger, frustration, disappointment, anxiety, insecurity or other challenging emotions? You've tried changing your mindset, perhaps even other therapies, but nothing has reached the core of your struggle and pain. I work with women like you, who are desperate for real change and ready to heal from the inside out. When you truly understand how trauma wounds people, you can begin to learn how to break free from the painful cycles that prevent you from living a full and abundant life.

I tailor sessions to clients' individual needs, often using IFS-informed therapy, EMDR, or Brainspotting.
Do you feel overwhelmed by persistent worry, stress, or sadness, or hijacked by past trauma? Or maybe you struggle with shame and low self-esteem, feeling stuck in painful relationships and life circumstances. I strive to be a safe, empathic and non-judgmental listener and source of support. I help clients engage in self-exploration, identify their unique patterns and strengths, develop self-compassion and confidence, face their fears, change their reactions, and experience greater freedom and peace. My clients experience healing from trauma, adverse life events, relationship issues and anxiety.

Clients come to me looking for Brainspotting (a powerful, body-based treatment similar to EMDR) and EFT (the gold standard for couples therapy).
You want to appear strong, but deep down you feel overwhelmed, disconnected, and doubtful of yourself. You’re someone who works hard and is intentional in all that you do, but you still find yourself facing the same issues from your past again and again. You want better for yourself, even if you’re not exactly sure what that might look like. So, you are ready to make a change. You’re ready to experience relief from your past. You’re ready to build rich, meaningful relationships with yourself and others. You’re ready to face your future, connected fully to yourself, with complete access to peace, joy, and hope.

You are not too much. Nor is what you have been through too much. If you struggle with gender or sexual identity, sexual or domestic violence, or other forms of lasting trauma, I can help. Just know that I believe you to be, at this moment, exactly who you need to be in order to survive. I also believe that things can get better.

The parenthood journey has its inherent rewards, but the struggles are REAL. Sometimes the weight of these struggles becomes too much, even crushing. The stress takes away from the moments you want more than anything to enjoy. The responsibilities are endless. It is common to feel alone, particularly in times of need. But know you are not alone! Whether you are trying to conceive, are pregnant, a new parent or an experienced one, help is available.

There are seasons for renewal, change and healing. Seeking therapy is a brave and vulnerable step. My specialty is counseling children, teens, and adults who are strong, but feel weighed down by trauma, perfectionism, anxiety, depression, and self worth. Perhaps you are searching because something feels broken in your life: relationships are disconnected, or an event haunts you from the past, or your emotions are overwhelming. Perhaps you are plagued by hidden grief or rejection, and you feel restless or wounded as a result. You are not alone, and you don't have to stay stuck.

Do you struggle with feeling disconnected from yourself and others? Do you put your needs at the bottom of your list? Do you wonder if life should feel better? Happier? More fulfilled? Do you long for more connection in your romantic relationship? Has your relationship been ruptured by betrayal or infidelity or have you grown apart? Now more than ever, people are feeling anxious, overwhelmed and uncertain about how they are supposed to manage their lives, relationships and careers. Pushing away your needs and not taking time for yourself and your relationships can lead to long term issues for your mind and body.

Sometimes it can feel alarming to realize our anxiety, depression or trauma is not just in our heads, but in our bodies as well. We might try to change the way we are thinking, but we still don't feel at home in our own skin. We can start to feel afraid that nothing will ever change. As a somatic (body-centered) psychotherapist trained in trauma across the lifespan, it is my honor to support clients in discovering that much more is possible than at first imagined. I enjoy helping clients identify what is right and natural about themselves, and to heal through their own fully-trustworthy inner wisdom.

Weeks, months, or possibly years pass while ignoring a nagging sensation in our minds, bodies, and souls. The sensation is communicating to us that something is not right. When we listen, we might notice a few things. In our work, we might feel overwhelmed or dissatisfied. In our day-to-day life, we might feel irritated or uncertain. Maybe we notice overall feelings of worry and fatigue. Maybe we feel disconnected spiritually. We may have chronic stress, depressive feelings, and anxiety. We may not have a clear path or plan for our life. We want to be free and have more meaning in our lives, but we don’t know how to start.

We live in a complicated world. The demands of work, home, caregiving, loss, transitions, as well as exposure to troubling events can all take their toll. Many of us need a place to breathe, heal, rejuvenate, and discover a better way forward. Together we can create a safe, confidential, uplifting environment in which to heal, learn and grow.

Are you wanting to reclaim your authentic self? You want to be more in control of your anger and emotions, not be taken for a ride again and again. You "know better" yet are frustrated that you keep doing the same thing. Or maybe you're in a relationship that's disconnected and you want to revive the love and intimacy? These can be challenging issues to face alone. Unfortunately, many people learn to tune-out or dissociate in these situations, which can cause more difficulty and lead to feeling stuck or hopeless. I focus on integrative practices that address your mind, body, spirit and emotions - it's not all in your head.

Brainspotting Therapists

How does brainspotting work?

Brainspotting works by using eye positioning to identify and process traumatic memories so that a client is better able to move forward and live with less fear. The theory behind brainspotting is that by identifying where a person looks when thinking of traumatic memories, a therapist will be able to guide them to focus on that spot and work with the client to get them out of the “fight, flight, freeze” response associated with the traumatic memory.

Is brainspotting an evidence-based therapy?

Brainspotting is a theory-based alternative therapy. It is one of the newest forms of treatment, so very little research has been completed that examines the mechanism by which it works. The theory behind brainspotting is that eye position can be linked to areas of the brain that store and process memory.

How effective is brainspotting?

Because it is such a new treatment, the effectiveness of brainspotting cannot be quantified. Some people have found it to be effective on its own, or in conjunction with other types of therapy. It is considered an alternative therapy, and it is popular with people for whom more traditional therapies have proven ineffective.

How long does brainspotting take to work?

A typical brainspotting session will last between 60 to 90 minutes. There is no required number of sessions needed to complete brainspotting therapy, but in many cases it is delivered over the course of about six sessions. Clients are encouraged to rate their level of distress prior to a session and again following a session, and to track progress.
