I also utilize brainspotting techniques to decrease emotional trauma, decrease emotions "stuck in the body", and process difficult anxieties.
Are you struggling with anxiety, trauma, PTSD, self-worth struggles, emotional dysregulation, or relational struggles? Do you end the day feeling like you're barely managing complicated emotions that you can't quite describe? I am a somatic therapist who has extensive experience working with individuals who find themselves "stuck" or have a history of trauma, and feel overwhelmed, anxious, and/or depressed. I also work with clients who are enduring life transition struggles, who feel stuck in the past, ADHD, relationship difficulties, and struggling to build a positive relationship with themselves.

As a clinician, I am an advocate and skilled provider of eye-movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), Brainspotting, hypnosis, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), emotion focused therapy (EFT) & rationale-emotive behavioral therapy (RBT).
The Sex Therapist you never knew you needed! When client’s come to my office to seek therapy, the one part of themselves that is most often neglected is sexuality! Most people don’t even mention sexual beliefs, curiosities, behaviors, or attitudes until I ask. I believe that sexuality is so much a part of who we are, there is no way to fully heal and truly be at peace if our sexuality is not explored! As well as specializing in Sex Therapy, I’m also a clinical trauma therapist!

I am practitioner of Somatic Experiencing (SEP) and certified in EMDR therapy and Brainspotting.
As a counselor, I believe my role is to help others tap into their own innate and powerful ability to heal. I support my clients in cultivating awareness around the connection between their bodies and minds. This leads to a deeper understanding of ourselves, how we relate to others and how and cope with daily life.

Brainspotting, women’s issues, increasing wellness in minority communities, and assessing federal law enforcement (high-risk/operational) highlights a few areas of my training and work.
Let me guess; you’re the strong friend that everyone’s saying to check on. You’re the one who ignores the red flags in relationships or neglects the responsibility of self-care because someone needs you. You’re the overwhelmed person juggling too many tasks, feeling depleted, or trying to heal yourself from past traumas. Life is about transitions, and we need support getting through the rough patches. You are more resilient, capable of healing, worthy of love, and deserving of peace than you may realize. If you’re ready to reduce the stress, heal, or confidently achieve peace for a better quality of life, you're in the right place.

I utilize modalities such as EMDR, Brainspotting, IFS, SE, and DBT.
I operate from the perspective that therapy is not about changing ourselves. Rather, therapy is simply creating space for the seemingly dark, fearful, and shameful parts within us. These parts want to be seen and accepted, just as we all do. In sessions, I encourage my client to allow their body and inner wisdom to drive the progression of the therapeutic process. I believe that healing occurs as we gently move towards non-resistance and self-acceptance. This process catalyzes the body’s innate ability to transform emotions, the conscious, and the subconscious mind.

We’ll use various methods, including IFS & brainspotting, to help you explore and heal.
Do you have a sense that something about your childhood is affecting you as an adult? Maybe you can put your finger on exactly what it is, or maybe you are just seeing patterns in your life & relationships that have you wondering if there’s something deeper behind it. Past therapy experiences may have been helpful in some ways, but you seem to keep getting stuck. It feels like anxiety and self-doubt are the ones controlling the direction of your life, not what is true and authentic to you. You’re ready to address these things at the source, so you can finally work with your inner critic and regain control of your life.

Brainspotting Phase 1 trained (trauma).
My goal is to help people lead happier more content lives. I hope to build a relationship in which you feel secure in the knowledge that I am here to help you and truly want to see you achieve a more content you. Counseling is just like life in that you get out of it what you put into it. Counseling requires courage. In going through the difficult parts though, you will come out stronger and more capable of living the life you desire. I can’t “fix” you (you’re not broken even if it feels that way). What I’ll do is work along side you to get through those tough things that are going on inside or around you.

Brainspotting Therapists

How does brainspotting work?

Brainspotting works by using eye positioning to identify and process traumatic memories so that a client is better able to move forward and live with less fear. The theory behind brainspotting is that by identifying where a person looks when thinking of traumatic memories, a therapist will be able to guide them to focus on that spot and work with the client to get them out of the “fight, flight, freeze” response associated with the traumatic memory.

Is brainspotting an evidence-based therapy?

Brainspotting is a theory-based alternative therapy. It is one of the newest forms of treatment, so very little research has been completed that examines the mechanism by which it works. The theory behind brainspotting is that eye position can be linked to areas of the brain that store and process memory.

How effective is brainspotting?

Because it is such a new treatment, the effectiveness of brainspotting cannot be quantified. Some people have found it to be effective on its own, or in conjunction with other types of therapy. It is considered an alternative therapy, and it is popular with people for whom more traditional therapies have proven ineffective.

How long does brainspotting take to work?

A typical brainspotting session will last between 60 to 90 minutes. There is no required number of sessions needed to complete brainspotting therapy, but in many cases it is delivered over the course of about six sessions. Clients are encouraged to rate their level of distress prior to a session and again following a session, and to track progress.
