Waitlist for new clients
I offer both EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) and Brainspotting in person and online.
At this time, my practice has a waitlist and it is approximately a 6 week wait for a new client appointment. I specialize in working with sex and relationship difficulties and treat individuals and couples. I help people understand the relationship patterns they've developed and how they continue to play out, even though they aren't helpful anymore.

Maybe you've been feeling like it's been harder to keep things together at times, or you have goals/decisions you'd like to reach but a little something keeps pulling at you. Are you experiencing the "wonderment" they call life? Everyone experiences these spaces as a symptom of simply being human. We are multifaceted which gives us greater meaning and pushes us towards growth, though sometimes we can benefit from a respectful, trustworthy, judgment-free space that is tailored to your individual needs exactly where you are in your journey.

I use EMDR & Brainspotting to get to the root of what’s going on.
You are really tired. If you’re being honest, your head is spinning & you’re anxious a lot of the time. It’s keeping you from being able to rest, let alone enjoy life. Your thoughts are moving so fast, that it’s hard to stay focused. Now you’re starting to have headaches, racing heart, & tightness in your chest. You’re not sure what to do about it. All you know is that you don’t feel your best & believe your letting people down. You feel disappointed & wonder what is going on with you. Usually things go according to plan and right now that is definitely not happening. It’s starting to become too much.

Thus, I primarily use IFS & Brainspotting, two mind-body methods effective for trauma.
If you suffer from feelings of inadequacy, loneliness or identity issues, there could be a deeper root. Depression, anxiety, relationship struggles, the pressure to meet others' expectations while neglecting your own needs, all could stem from past trauma. Complex trauma, familial or systemic, can cause internalized guilt, shame and self-abandonment. This can look like feeling resentful, reactive, avoidant, hopeless or shut down. However, you are not doomed to stay stuck there. Healing is possible, and can pave the way for a life freer from negative thoughts, with more peace, self-acceptance, authenticity and improved relationships.

My practice is focused on helping you from the moment you realize that the ways you have been getting by seem to be causing more distress than relief. You may be noticing imbalance in your relationships, that you are putting off life changes and goals until you feel "good enough", or you might have a lot of fear of things feeling chaotic or not in control. While I address a broad range of concerns, a lot of the people I work with are struggling in particular with patterns around food, dieting, and body image that have left them feeling exhausted, defeated, and out of control.

I love working with individuals and professionals who are seeking more out of life, and who feel that they have something to contribute to the world but need some help unlocking their potential. I believe that everyone has special gifts and talents, and learning to unlock these gifts is the journey of life that we are all on. Issues such as self-doubt, lack of clarity, or the after-effects of trauma can hinder your progress, and I will help you to become free so that you can live the life you have been dreaming of.

Brainspotting Therapists

How does brainspotting work?

Brainspotting works by using eye positioning to identify and process traumatic memories so that a client is better able to move forward and live with less fear. The theory behind brainspotting is that by identifying where a person looks when thinking of traumatic memories, a therapist will be able to guide them to focus on that spot and work with the client to get them out of the “fight, flight, freeze” response associated with the traumatic memory.

Is brainspotting an evidence-based therapy?

Brainspotting is a theory-based alternative therapy. It is one of the newest forms of treatment, so very little research has been completed that examines the mechanism by which it works. The theory behind brainspotting is that eye position can be linked to areas of the brain that store and process memory.

How effective is brainspotting?

Because it is such a new treatment, the effectiveness of brainspotting cannot be quantified. Some people have found it to be effective on its own, or in conjunction with other types of therapy. It is considered an alternative therapy, and it is popular with people for whom more traditional therapies have proven ineffective.

How long does brainspotting take to work?

A typical brainspotting session will last between 60 to 90 minutes. There is no required number of sessions needed to complete brainspotting therapy, but in many cases it is delivered over the course of about six sessions. Clients are encouraged to rate their level of distress prior to a session and again following a session, and to track progress.
