Often, feeling lost can lead to depression, anxiety, a sense of not belonging and even mal-adaptive behaviors such as substance abuse or self-harm. We at Baobab Counseling Center are passionate about working with individuals to tap into their inner strength, desires and potential while identifying and overcoming those barriers that arise.
We incorporate many techniques and approaches and each therapist is trained in Brainspotting, a brain based approach. Other approaches our therapists collectively utilize are mindfulness, DBT skills building, ACT, IFS informed techniques, music and gaming based techniques and more. We offer individual, group and family therapy.

Therapeutic Drumming
Life is an ebb and flow of rhythms; from sound deafening at times to soothing and everything in between. When we are ‘out of rhythm’, our mental, physical, spiritual and emotional health can suffer. Through repetition of beats, drumming awakens every part of the brain to become synchronized and can help revive our internal rhythmic state’s equilibrium. The first half of group will be focused on learning drumming rhythms and the second half wi incorporate drumming in a therapeutic way. Consistency is key to this approach being affective with changing the neuropathways in the brain.
