When my father passed away when I was ten years old, I saw my first therapist. I had no idea what was happening. I was unable to articulate my feelings at the time, so it was all very hazy. I realized as I began to come into my own that people gravitated toward me because I was easygoing and relaxed. As I learned more about the various demographics and pursued my studies, I became increasingly aware of my desire to work with those who lived with trauma, anxiety, depression, and the LGBTQ+ community.
I use a person-centered approach to treatment. It follows that I consider you to be the "expert" in your own life. I employ a diverse range of interventions, such as unconditional positive regard, empathy, and many others, to facilitate the growth of self-awareness, self-discovery, and enhanced self-perceptions.
