My ideal client is a teen or adult that is struggling to figure out what they are missing. They are realizing that life's challenges seem harder for them than they are for others. They may be having challenges with their personal relationships. They may be feeling unable to complete tasks they used to accomplish easily. They may be feeling depressed and anxious. I specialize in working with late-identified autistic teens and adults, as well as teens and adults with ADHD. I also have experience and enjoy working with folks that experience depression, anxiety, substance use challenges, trauma, and/or PTSD symptoms.
I center my therapeutic approach on Gestalt theory. The word “Gestalt” refers to a unified whole-person that is greater than the sum of its parts. In therapy we will work on discovering parts of yourself and learning to bring them all together to reinforce the authentic “you.”
I chose to become a therapist after embarking on my own mental health journey. I felt "too different" whenever anyone tried to help me. I felt misunderstood and alone. It was a long road, but I found the help I needed. I want to provide my clients with neuroaffirming treatment that will address their specific challenges and provide paths to regulation.
