About
I believe that we are neither helpless nor capable of being broken and therefore shy away from the idea we need to be fixed. Instead, I see suffering as arising when we become disconnected from our values, when we lose contact with the here and now, and when we get swept up in our thoughts and emotions. Each of us possess the capacity for change through our innate resilience, strength, and endurance. I see my clients as already possessing these attributes, which are needed to reconnect with one’s values and for making the shift from doing to being.
I focus on treating eating disorders, disordered eating, body image, and related issues, including trauma and anxiety. I work with elements Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and CBT, along with a Person-Centered and Feminist view. My approach is culturally self-aware, LGBTQ2IA+ aligned, and spiritually connected.
In the therapy room, I exist with my clients in shared awareness as we seek understanding rather taking on the role of healer, teacher, or expert. Our relationship is held as sacred and is used as a vehicle for awakening to ourselves. Please feel free to connect if my profile resonates with you. It would be a pleasure to join you on your healing journey.
