About
I believe that the ideal client is an individual who is motivated towards working towards improving their mood, situation, or life in the goals they choose. As a marriage and family therapist, I believe I'm best suited for working with couples and families. However, a significant amount of my nearly fourteen years of clinical experience has been working children and adolescents. I also enjoy working with those who are oppositional, anxious, depressed, have experienced trauma, are seeking parenting skills, or are looking for emotional management and coping strategies.
I have worked in outpatient, day treatment, and non-profit settings for over ten years. I enjoy working with a variety of ages, cultures, and presenting problems. I especially enjoy working with children and teenagers between the ages of five and eighteen, young adults and couples.
I approach each individual, couple, or family with an open mind and therapeutic perspective. I am eclectic by nature and willing to utilize whatever therapeutic perspectives are best suited for the person I'm working with. I believe the relationship between the therapist and client is critical to therapeutic success.
