About
Bourne ANEW, a consultation service founded by Kenn Bourne, a Philadelphia-based social worker, provides curated interventions and valuable skills to Black boys and young men, so they may have a fair shot to lead the purposeful lives we all need them to. Black bodies are complicated and intersect many systems. Until now, this overlooked population has been forced to seek healing in therapeutic spaces that have not yet adapted to intersecting modalities of healing.
Clinically, there are no diagnoses or language to effectively communicate the systemic trauma absorbed by Black bodies in America, allowing for common misdiagnosing, over-diagnosing, misunderstanding, and ignoring of lived experiences.
Through Bourne Anew, you have access to thoughtful, professional programming that opens a dialect and space that safely allows Black boys and young men to speak and describe their experiences without judgment. We use culturally congruent, anti-oppressive and antiracist therapeutic approaches when engaging, assessing, and providing services to promote healing
