I have over 30 years of experience of working with both individuals and couples with with addictions, childhood trauma, depression, suicidal thoughts, and attempts. In addition, I have worked with LGBT clients for over 12 years. My practice is affirming for both straight and gay persons. I like to focus on providing support for identifying one's strengths and finding solutions that help to create inner peace. In addition, I have provided trainings on various topics such as suicide prevention, trauma and counseling clients who live with HIV. I provide training and consultation in these areas.

I am a licensed therapist that specializes in treating individuals who have experienced early childhood adversities resulting in complex post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), dissociative identity disorder (DID), and other related problems including depression, addictions, and anxiety. My passion for this field developed early on in my career as a missionary pastor living and ministering to US Military stationed in Germany for nearly 20 year. I began human service work in 1986 after receiving my Bachelor of Science degree in Counseling from the University of Montevallo, located in Montevallo, Alabama. I received my Master of Education in Counseling from the University of Montevallo in 1994. I became a Licensed Professional Counselor in 2001. I am currently licensed in Alabama and Georgia (inactive at present in Georgia) and am a board-certified supervisor for those wishing to become licensed counselors. A hurtful past cannot change, but moving through fear and hurt leads to acceptance, and then peace becomes evident.
