I am a clinical psychologist with over 28 years experience providing treatment, clinical instruction and supervision in evidenced based psychotherapy. I have served as a clinical director, supervisor, and clinical instructor of psychology to programs at Columbia Presbyterian, Mt Sinai Medical Center, and Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation.I am committed to the practice and advancement of treatment approaches which strengthen psychological skills for coping with life challenges. I have specialized in the treatment of depression, anxiety , including ptsd, and co-occurring disorders of addiction and mental health.
Contributing toward the advancement of effective treatment of mood and addictive disorders, as clinical instructor in Psychiatry at Mount Sinai MedicalCenter, I developed a protocol for applying mindfulness based interventions toward the treatment of dual diagnoses of addiction and mood disorders. In 2007, this work which was published in CNS Spectrums and received international attention.
With a strong foundation in psychodynamic and couples and family treatment achieved through my graduate training at Rutgers University , I have furthered my clinical skills through the post graduate study of cognitive behavioral treatment, and mindfulness based cognitive behavioral treatment, compassion based mindful treatment of trauma, and dialectical based treatment approaches to emotional dysregulation.
