I have a passion for working with clients exploring their gender and sexuality. Whether this be working with folx who identify as transgender and queer, navigating our oftentimes harmful societal pressures; or cisgender straight men, exploring what it means to be a man; I am happy to explore with you the complexity of all forms of identity. I have also engaged in considerable trauma work, ranging from interpersonal and developmental traumas to severe and persistent sexual and physical violence. It is my belief that there is no experience of trauma, no matter how “insignificant” you may believe it is, that is undeserving of care.
My main approaches to this work include integrating holistic and relational approaches to psychotherapy, social justice-informed, strengths-based, and trauma-informed interventions. I am also not of the belief that psychotherapy has to be serious all the time, and utilizing humor can be a great method of making the harder topics more accessible and safer.
I enjoy encouraging my clients to find what makes them feel like themselves again. I help my clients to heal from past wounds and live wholehearted lives that are in alignment with their values.
