As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in private practice for 40+ years, I provide relational psychotherapy for individuals and couples. In our initial meeting we identify the problem areas and conflicts causing psychological or emotional distress. Understanding the core issues will lead to a treatment approach, designed specifically for each client or couple. We utilize each persons strengths, coping skills, and life experience to reduce and manage anxiety, depression, self esteem issues and resolve internal or external conflicts. Effective psychotherapy can have a profound impact on mood, behavior and quality of life at all levels.
I specialize in relational psychotherapy which focuses on mutuality in the psychotheraputic relationship. I believe that fundamentally two things can change in therapy: the problem itself can be resolved, and/or the impact of the problem can become manageable through new learning, creating adaptations, and changing the relationship to the stress.
