About

Are you feeling anxious, sad, confused, lonely or chronically angry? Are you looking for safe place to explore your feeliings with an experienced therapist? You're in the right place. For over 40 years I've passionately worked with individuals, couples, famlies and groups. Research shows that it is the relationship between the client and the therapist that makes therapy transformative. Together we'll build a safe, authentic therapy relationship which will allow you to face tough issues such as: loss and change, attachment issues, addiction, sexual abuse and trauma, Complex PTSD, chronic illness, grief and sexual identity.
Over my long career, I've enjoyed helping others find their way through difficult times such as divorce, loss and grief. Since 1990, I've trained as a trauma therapist and helped countless people resolve issues resultiing from Complex PTSD. In 2003, I added coaching to my skills & trained in one of Dr. Martin Seligman's programs. Coaching is also a passion!
Regardless of what you're currently challenged with-a painful past-loss-trauma, health problems, relationship-marital /parenting problems, or a wish to reinvent your career...Let me help you explore new possibilities for living more joyfully. Currently, I am accepting a few clients for individual, marital and group therapy. New groups beginning this spring.

This safe and supportive group will help you learn to LIVE FULLY, and FLOURISH despite the struggles of living with Rare and Chronic Illnesses. This ten week group will help you learn and implement new scientific strategies from the emerging field of Positive Psycholgy. Group Leader, Bonni Akalis is both a Licensed Master's Social worker and a Limited Licensed Psycholoigist, a Clinically Certified Group Psychotherapist, and a certified graduate of "Authentic Happiness Coaching" taught by Dr. Martin Seligman, former President of the American Psycholgical Association and Professor at the University of Pennsylvania.
