I began my professional career as a high school teacher. Working with patients 12 and up to identify and achieve their goals is my passion. For that reason, I left the world of test scores and grade point averages to become a therapist. Essentially, I see myself as a mirror encouraging my clients to confront their issues and a teammate assisting my clients to embrace and harness their innate strength and power to move forward even when choices seem limited.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Masters of Art in Art Therapy. My own life experiences drove me into the field of Social Work & mental health to empower, motivate, uplift and elevate individuals, youth, and families. I have over 15 years of experience in Trauma-informed psychotherapy and/or social work practices with a demonstrated history of working in government, civic & social non-profit organizations.

While it is common to feel "unraveled" when daily stressors or various traumas occur, everyone has the ability to find meaningful solutions. I believe that everyone is unique, so the solution will be different for each person. My desire is to assist clients (ages 10-90), including adolescents, adults and couples, find a balance between a healthy need for relationship and possible psychological, social or spiritual factors within a framework of personal responsibility. After teaching English and Art for 23 years, I experienced the power of expressive arts to unlock inner voices that help students/clients achieve hope and confidence.
