I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who specializes in the treatment of children across a range of developmental stages including infancy, early childhood, school age, and adolescence, as well as maternal mental health. My approach is to build a partnership with caregivers, based on non-judgement and appreciation of diverse cultural values. Through the use of play therapy, I create a safe environment in which children can express their emotions freely, and we can begin to address any areas of tension or distress.

The decision to start therapy, the task of finding the right therapist can be daunting. You do not know what to expect, like going on a blind date. In your first session I will ask you specific questions about what brought you to therapy. Some will feel easy; others you may not want to get into. That is OK. Addiction to drugs and alcohol is destructive to both the person of concern, and their family and friends. I specialize in treating addiction and the correlating feelings of shame, depression, and anxiety. Healing from substance abuse and/or mood imbalance is done by strengthening an individual's mental, physical, and emotional nature, stopping negative cycles, and re-creating an authentic person. To support the healing process I provide interventions and counseling services for individuals and families. Most therapy is usually accomplished in 2-4 months.
