Hello and welcome! My name is Naomi and I am an Associate Clinical Social Worker. I identify as a queer woman of color and my pronouns are she/her. My focus in this practice is to provide trauma informed, identity-affirming psychotherapy to individuals with mood disorders. I work with each person to understand their unique needs and to build a genuine connection based on mutual respect and transparency. I am an associate social worker and board-certified music therapist. I aim to provide therapy that is anti-racist, accessible, queer affirming, sex and body positive, kink aware, trauma informed, and accepting of all relationship styles. My current focus is providing individual teletherapy to LGBTQIA2S+ adults experiencing life transitions and wanting to heal from trauma, depression, and anxiety. I am also passionate about working with people who are exploring sexuality, gender expression, and gender identity. When we have an experience that is traumatic or incredibly stressful, our brains have a hard time processing that memory. This can create symptoms such as, anxiety, depression, overwhelming emotions, difficult feelings, self-blame, or relationship problems, to name a few. If given the opportunity, our minds, like our bodies, have the innate ability to heal. The trouble with difficult experiences, however, is that these memories get tangled, leaving us feeling stuck or showing up in other destructive ways in our lives.
