Note that I have moved to Portland, Oregon, but continue to stay licensed in Louisiana and am happy to provide teletherapy to LA clients. I believe that healing can happen through the process of empathic and supportive counseling. I work with mood issues, personality disorders, grief, substance use and much more. I utilize a culturally sensitive and holistic psychodynamic style of therapy. This approach encourages development in all areas of life (relationships, thoughts, behaviors, emotions, careers, etc.), and pays special attention to unconscious factors and cultural identity (race, religion, sexuality, gender, disability, etc).
In addition to general therapy, I specialize in affirmative therapy for sexual orientation, transgender identity (including gender transition), and multicultural issues. I am experienced working with individuals from all areas of the LGBTQIA umbrella and a wide breadth of cultural and religious identities.
I provide teletherapy (videoconference) services for anyone living in Louisiana or Washington and am taking new teletherapy clients. Although I previously worked in private practice for 7 years in New Orleans, I now live in Washington state.
