Seeing clients through the Psychology Today Telehealth portal allows me to assist clients throughout NC. I work with individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, adjustment disorders, anger issues, PTSD and Asperger's disorder. I work with couples to improve their communications & the overall quality of their relationships. I assist couples whose relationships have suffered from infidelity. I also help families deal with the challenges of divorce, step family formation, and parent/teenager conflicts. I have experienced divorce, remarriage, and step family issues, thus I understand the emotional impact of these life changes.

As a potential client, know that your courage to face personal vulnerabilities and uncertainties is acknowledged from the start. To realize and understand the efforts you've made already affords us early opportunities to consider possibilities in therapy. Your desired outcome is the goal. The process of sharing, reflecting, and adjusting any internal and relational patterns is our therapy means to this end. The clinical approaches perhaps most reflective in therapy are cognitive-behavioral, inter-personal and family systems, and acceptance/commitment. Interventions are based on your child/family, couple, and individual needs.

I have over 20 years of experience in mental health. I am trained in EMDR, Hypnotherapy and CBT. I enjoy using humor to ease tension and lighten the mood, as I build rapport and help people feel supported. When working with clients, I help them identify natural support systems, set healthy boundaries, develop coping skills, gain work/life balance and process trauma. I have a holistic collaborative approach to care focusing on building resiliency using active listening, empathy and unconditional positive regard.

Parenting can be difficult. Children have their own personalities, ways of thinking, big feelings and struggle with healthy coping strategies. Children and adolescents often do not know how to communicate their thoughts and feelings and often act out in frustration. Youth are experiencing anxiety, self-doubt, low self confidence, social anxiety, stress, depression, and struggle with focusing. These can become negative self talk and can impact their families. Areas of special interest for me include working with youth and their families to help them flourish. I provide therapy and psychological evaluations.

Rose Marie Lawrence is a Trauma-focused, Christian based counselor; and is the founder and owner of My Guiding Light Professional Counseling Services. Rose is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) with over fifteen years of experienced in the mental health arena. Rose has a Masters degree in Counselor Education and also holds a Master’s degree in Human Services. In addition, Rose is a Licensed Ordained Minister. Rose clinical work experiences includes working with individuals, groups, couples, and families both online and in person. Rose firmly believes that “ with God, all things are possible".
