I am a psychotherapist with many years on mental health experience. My clientele is adults, 16 and up. Areas of practice focus are anxiety and depression, chronic pain, grief, traumatic loss, and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and adult ADHD. I'm trained in the therapy modalities of hypnotherapy, EMDR Exposure (CBT), and Emotional Freedom Technique - an energy psychology method. In helping clients break old habits, I'm a licensed provider of Trim Life, a weight loss program using hypnosis. Another program is Clean Break for smoking cessation.

I believe that each person is unique and I am flexible in my approach to each client's needs. I specialize in trauma and trauma related disorders. This includes PTSD, crisis, anxiety, grief, loss, child sexual abuse, low self-esteem, low self-worth, and other trauma related symptoms. I especially enjoy working with emergency service workers who are exposed to repeated trauma in their jobs, however I do not limit my practice to those workers. I have 20 years experience as a clinician and work with all age groups providing individual, marital, family, and group counseling services. Additionally I taught full time for UNC-Wilmington and was the UNCW Extension Campus Social Work Program Coordinator. I have presented statewide for the National Association for Social Workers on topics such as "Working with Military and their Families", "Working with Children Diagnosed with Pervasive Developmental Disorders", and "Positive Discipline Techniques." Additionally, I facilitate the only state approved Batterer Intervention Program in Onslow County for Domestic Violence Incidences.

My extensive experience includes working with service members/veterans and their families as well as children ages birth-five and their families. I enjoy working with adults with infertility issues and women or men who have experienced sexual trauma. I also work with adolescents who have different mental health challenges. My desire is to help you and your family learn how to express who you are and to experience growth. I hope to help you and your family with developing good intuition, creating healthy connections, and becoming more of your authentic self (selves). My clients can expect an environment free of judgment, full of understanding and empathy, where they can face the challenges that they have in a supportive environment. My personal background allows me to look at client issues from a different view and offer real world healing that meets the client where they are. My client’s come from various backgrounds, but all seeking to better understand themselves and a better way of coping. Because I’m seeing clients virtually, they feel freer to share more intimate and personal concerns that might be harder to talk about in person.
