Taeh A. Ward, Ph.D. is a clinical neuropsychologist at Psychological Solutions of Lake Norman (PSOLN) who specializes in comprehensive evaluation of neurological, other medical, and psychological conditions in geriatric and younger adults (age 18yrs+). Common issues for which testing is conducted include: mild cognitive impairment (MCI), various types of dementia including Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, Multiple Sclerosis, head injury, cognitive changes due to medical illness, depression, anxiety including posttraumatic stress disorder, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, among others.

My practice includes work with families, couples, and individuals ages 3 and older. My office is small and I work part-time because I also teach at colleges in Charlotte and surrounding areas. My clients have told me they feel very comfortable working with me and they appreciate my direct and results-oriented approach. Although I assist my clients with a wide variety of problems and challenges, my specialties include play therapy, trauma, and work/life issues. I love my job and I am always happy to help!

Dr. Lisa Long is a psychologist based in Charlotte, North Carolina. She specializes in forensic and clinical psychological evaluations and is a qualified expert witness and court-appointed evaluator in the Carolinas, Georgia, and Kentucky. Dr. Long provides contract psychological evaluations to the Department of Social Services and the Department of Juvenile Justice and consults with attorneys on criminal and civil matters. In addition, she performs psychological evaluations for family law and immigration cases. Dr. Long is fluent in Spanish, proficient in Arabic and Russian, and holds active licenses in multiple states.

It’s hard to know how to start an introduction like this. It can quickly feel like I am trying to “sell” myself to you, which is not the point. It's for you to get to know me. I have found therapy to be most beneficial under two conditions: first and foremost, a person HAS to be ready. Ready to make changes; ready to dig deep. I think we have all been guilty of continuing the same patterns of behavior, hoping things will magically change one day. I advise a healthy mix of tangible change along with exploration to identify how core beliefs, negative thoughts and family dynamics impact present behaviors and relationships.

I believe that authentic relationships bring about the change that people are seeking. I provide unconditional positive regard in a safe space in order for clients to begin to reach their full potential. I work with older teens and adults regarding a wide range of issues. I provide services in the areas of relationships, depression, anxiety, trauma, grief/loss, parenting support, leadership, career counseling, college students and other areas. My theoretical orientation includes elements of Person-Centered and Reality therapies and may also include cognitive and behavioral therapies along with other modalities.
