I'm here to offer a safe and nurturing space for you to work through what is holding you back. Together, we'll navigate away from obstacles and move toward fulfillment, exploring solutions tailored to your needs. This may involve challenging thought patterns, changing unhealthy habits, addressing relationship dynamics, embracing yourself, processing stressors and trauma, or honing your coping strategies.

Maybe you want a space to process changes that are happening or you are struggling to figure out the next right steps to create the life you want. You want to live your life confidently, as the fullest version of yourself, but you are feeling alone or ashamed or overwhelmed. Or maybe you want to feel more connected to your partner, but you keep leaving interactions with them feeling like they just aren’t getting where you’re coming from. It's so easy to feel like you're stuck in the same patterns.

I offer an affirming and anti-oppressive space for you to explore who you are, what you’ve been through, how those experiences have shaped you, and how you’d like to shape your future. Everything is connected: symptoms such as anxiety and depression are often related to relationship and resource issues, which connect to things like identity, neurotype, or environment. I work with teens and adults struggling with multiple concerns within themselves, their relationships, and their communities.

I am currently interested in working with clients ages 16+ on the following topics: substance use, relationships, interpersonal communication, boundaries, life transitions, sexuality, gender identity, anxiety, depression, dissociation, trauma and general exploration/discovery of identity. I work with folks from all cultural, racial and religious backgrounds and is LGBTQIA+ affirming.

My name is Thorne (they/them) and I am a white, queer, non-binary licensed clinical social worker associate (LCSWA) offering both individuals and couples/relationship therapy in Durham, NC. My work is grounded in fierce compassion and a belief that everyone is capable of healing and feeling like they belong. It is my experience that one of the key elements of transformative therapy is our relationship; that we are a good “fit” and that you feel safe to share your joy, anger, grief, and tears. My style is gentle, attentive, playful, and person-centered–drawing from relational, narrative, and attachment-based therapy approaches.

Activist Lilla Watson expressed: “If you have come here to help me, you are wasting your time. But if you have come because your liberation is bound up with mine, then let us work together.” This vision inspires my approach to therapy: one that is collaborative, open, and exploratory, kindled by mutual feelings of trust and safety. It also reflects my philosophy toward the healing process as one that is non-linear and rooted in both individual growth and collective care.

I specialize in LGBTQ affirmative therapy, with a focus on trans/gender identity issues. Our sessions address your authentic needs and what is important to you. This leads to improved mood and confidence and success in transitioning. As your natural self emerges, you will become more resilient and your relationships will feel more alive.

I strive to support my clients as they navigate anxiety, depression, learning differences, eating disorders, family trauma, identity exploration and many other challenges and transitions. Applying an intersectional lens to all the experiences and identities that shape our lives is also essential to my practice.

Accepting New Clients - My clinical practice mainly consists of fellow queer and neurodivergent folx who struggle with complex trauma. Common concerns include self-abandonment through people pleasing, exploring gender/sexual identity, executive dysfunction, immense shame/guilt, perfectionism, identifying community supports, and processing underlying traumatic experiences. My clients often come into session looking to better understand who they are and what really works for them. Many times they feel so detached from themselves and their own bodies that it has been hard to even know what they want from life or who they are

I love co-collaborating with curious folx who want to know more about themselves and find better ways to live under systems of oppression. This can look like wanting to know more about your gender/sexuality, traumas/resilience, patterns/histories, systems/power, and desires/dreams. I work well with folx who want to build softer ways of being, explore voice/dignity, create liberatory self-narratives, and hold grief/trauma in new ways. I love working with community organizers, queer/trans folx, and creatives. I value safely moving into the deep with clients, honoring and tending to wounds that happened to but do not define folx.

Hi, I'm so glad you're here. My name is Dylan Hines, a mental health counselor at Three Oaks Behavioral Health & Wellness. I am deeply passionate about supporting members of the queer (LGBTQ+) community through mental health care and community education. I also enjoy working alongside adolescents and adults of all ages as they explore identities and values; manage anxiety, depression, and daily stressors; process trauma; navigate life transitions; and work towards their goal of creating a more fulfilling life.

I believe our best lives are lived in connection–internally, with one another, our histories, and the land. My approach includes helping clients discern their values and cultivate relationships. By promoting embodied safety and self-worth, I support clients as they heal and thrive.

I became a therapist because I value complexity. We each have our own vision for a life that feels vibrant, authentic, and fulfilling. As your therapist, it's my job to walk with you through the process of learning about yourself, growing, and getting more of what you want out of life. I work primarily with queer and trans people age 11 and older but offer individual, relationship, and family therapy services to clients of all backgrounds. I also offer autism and ADHD assessments for adolescents and adults.

I am passionate about creating a supportive and empowering space for folx come and be their most authentic selves. I am skilled in conducting therapy with clients who have depression, trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), trauma relating to immigration, depression, anxiety, autism spectrum disorder, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and chronic illness/chronic pain. I have worked very closely with the LGBTQIA+ community, Latinx community, and the disabled community. I am knowledgeable regarding trans healthcare, including medical and social transition.

I am most experienced with Autism, Anxiety, and Depression. With Autism, I work to help individuals better function in a world of many challenges. With anxiety and depression, I work to reframe thinking, utilize mindfulness, and find the best ways to stop the destructive cycles that come with both. I strive to meet you where you are with the tools you need.
