I am also specialized in integrative medicine.
Part of being human is experiencing a range of emotions... and they're not all rainbows and sparkles. Going through difficult times is a part of life. For most of us, we need or at least benefit from gaining support through those times. And, while it may be helpful to talk to a trusted friend or family member, therapy offers something different. Therapy gives you a totally safe place where you can explore your thoughts and behaviors with a trained professional who is non-biased. It is also a place where you can learn strategies to help you better deal with your challenges, set goals, and gain new perspectives. How great is that!?

I utilize an integrative, strength-based, and person-centered approach informed by attachment theory, IFS, Somatic Experiencing, ACT, and mindfulness-based therapies.
I work with adults and older teens seeking assistance with a wide range of concerns, including depression, anxiety, trauma, neurodivergence, substance use, life transitions, and identity development and change. I also welcome clients who are simply seeking growth, greater self-understanding, or a deeper sense of meaning and well-being in their lives; therapy does not always have to be about fixing a problem. Additionally, I have training and background in working with individuals who have experienced non-ordinary states of consciousness, and welcome clients who are seeking to integrate experiences; positive, confusing, or difficult.

I help people through challenges including trauma, anxiety, depression, and emotional distress using a holistic and integrative approach that combines evidence-based methods such as EMDR and expressive therapy.
EMDR Trained and Certified. Many people find themselves stuck in unconscious patterns that obstruct success, joy and the life they were meant to live. I work with you in exploring your daily patterns and how your experiences may have shaped you. After careful assessment, we work together to establish minor adjustments that set you on a course of optimal balance. Small changes can have profound effects. We target the root of the emotions, which have positive results in enhancing self-confidence, relationships, career, success, and ultimately bringing you back to your highest, most authentic self where you can experience true joy.

I am an integrative and expressive therapist which means I do not subscribe to one philosophy in treatment.
Welcome to Gaining Clarity Counseling Services! All are welcome here! I take pride in being real. While techniques and interventions are important, the relationship between therapist and client is essential for positive outcomes. I have particular interest and experience in working with those impacted by traumatic experiences. I have come to recognize that much of client distress stems from unresolved trauma (grief, abuse, mistreatment, etc.). Together, we will address root causes and equip you with the tools necessary for sustainable lifestyle change.

My approach is integrative and tailored to each client, couple, or family.
I’m Samantha, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate. My areas of passion are grief and loss, interpersonal conflict, divorce, and coparenting adjustment. These dark, shadowy areas of life that touch many, if not all, of us sometimes create “big T” or “little t” traumas in the process. It can feel isolating, lonely, and scary to walk along those paths in the dark. My goal is to provide some company—and some light—so no one has to walk those paths alone. If you’re willing to put your trust in me, we can get to the other side of that darkness together.

I offer Telehealth/video counsel (as well as in-person) with an integrative, person-centered, CBT, strengths-based approach in a safe and nonjudgmental space.
I have always had an interest in not only how our minds, bodies, and spirits are connected, but also what takes place when an imbalance exists and then how to implore healing. I look at an individual through a holistic lens, and use this approach, when appropriate. A part of this holistic approach, I have the belief that as a part of the world and universe in which we live, that we are all, interconnected and operate as a part of a dynamic system. I am especially interested in how mindfulness practices, yoga, animals, and nature, might influence the ideas of acceptance and non-judgment, and overall, positively affect an individual.

I favor a relational, integrative approach tailored to best meet clients’ needs, so therapy is what you need it to be.
Parts of life can be incredibly hard and painful. We aren’t meant to go at it alone. You may be struggling with anxiety, depression, emotional suffering, self-worth, relationship difficulties, or generally feeling stuck in life. Or, you may be feeling disconnected from yourself and searching for self and purpose. I believe counseling is an opportunity to help people cope with life challenges, lessen pain, change in meaningful ways, AND experience joy and vitality.

Relationally-oriented and experienced in diverse treatment approaches including psychodynamic and acceptance-based models, I have practiced at all levels of our mental health system, promoting emotional health and resiliency through a collaborative and integrative approach that values safety, connection, and client-driven feedback in the therapeutic process.
While there are many reasons to seek therapy, often an underlying theme is that the strategies we have developed and relied on over time to deal with life's challenges are no longer working as effectively as might be needed. It is my belief, and has been my experience, that by understanding how we have adapted to the forces that shape our lives (both within and around us), and by changing the ways we relate to and experience these forces, we can create opportunities to strengthen valued skills or learn new ones, improve our ability to respond to and manage stress, and move with intention toward desired goals and outcomes.

Through the utilization of evidence-based practices, I use an integrative, gender-affirming, holistic approach combining Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Mindfulness.
Therapy is more than a comfy couch and a good listener; it’s a safe space to examine, reflect, goal-set, and learn new skills to align with such goals. My hope for you is that when you step into my office you feel supported in a non-judgmental collaborative setting while being provided space for autonomy, diversity, free-thinking, authenticity, and mutual respect. I specialize in treating clients with trauma-related disorders, anxiety, depression, gender dysphoria, as well as grief, and loss. I am most passionate about working with members of the trans community as well as all individuals within the LGBTQIA+ umbrella.

My goal is to welcome you and help you though the valley and back on the mountain of being all God created you to be. We will be in this journey together with you in the lead.

I utilize an integrative approach based on the ideas that you are unique and capable, and how and what you think impacts your beliefs, feelings, and actions.
There are many reasons you might be searching for some extra support - anxiety, depression, life transitions, maintaining boundaries, past or present trauma, navigating relationships, self esteem stress, and more. While acknowledging this can be frightening and overwhelming, it can also be freeing at the same time. I understand this and work to build a relationship with each client that promotes trust, awareness, and understanding. If you're ready to get started, I'm here, and I'd love to help.

My approach is individualized, integrative, and holistic; I focus on functional solutions that address the whole person and help them find balance within their lives.
While each person who views this page ended up here for different reasons, know this: you have already taken the first (and often most difficult) step by seeking support. No matter where you are in your journey, I am here to work with you towards mental wellness. Common issues that we can work together to address: Feeling “stuck,” seeking a deeper connection with a loved one, dealing with thoughts/feelings of anxiety, feelings of insecurity and self-doubt, experiencing a loss or tragedy that has been difficult to process, funding functional solutions for symptoms of neurodivergence, and feeling unsatisfied and lacking direction.

Integrative Therapists

What is integrative therapy?

Integrative therapy is a type of therapy that combines ideas and techniques from different therapeutic approaches depending on the needs of the individual client. By merging elements of different treatments, an integrative therapist aims to offer a more flexible approach than those who practice just one type of therapy.

How does integrative therapy work?

Integrative therapy approaches a client’s mental, physical, and emotional health in a holistic way to discover the sources of their unhealthy behavior patterns or other challenges and considers the approach most likely to lead to improvement. Among the techniques an integrative therapist may practice are cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, EMDR, mindfulness, art or music therapy, psychodynamic therapy, breathwork, family systems therapy, gestalt therapy, and trauma-informed therapy. An integrative therapist regularly evaluates the client’s progress and is prepared to pivot to a different approach if progress stalls.

How long does integrative therapy last?

As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for integrative therapy; people who find they are making progress typically continue until they feel they’ve addressed the issues that spurred them to seek treatment. New patients should understand that it may take some time for a therapist to land on a treatment approach that best meets their needs, but once they do, they should expect sessions to extend for a number of months, typically including at least 12 sessions.

How effective is integrative therapy?

There are hundreds of types of talk therapy, and research shows that while they vary in form, goals, and frequency, many if not all can produce similarly successful outcomes. But a single approach does not always deliver the greatest, or speediest, benefit, and so even therapists primarily trained in one model will use tools, language, techniques, or exercises from others to shape an effective treatment plan.
