Many clients have suffered from covert abuse. They learn to recognize manipulations that have been used to confuse them, to process trauma, to implement skills to communicate effectively, to set boundaries with difficult people, and to manage smear campaigns while simultaneously becoming stronger, wiser, and more resilient as they learn to love and value themselves and trust their judgment. Some clients learn to be better parents or to connect to others on a deeper level. Still others learn to overcome automatic, inaccurate perceptions that damage relationships so they can nurture the relationships they love.
Most of my training, guided by client need, has become focused on dealing with high-conflict people: how to recognize, avoid, and manage them, their manipulative techniques, the trauma they cause, how to set boundaries with them, and how to manage the negative advocates they manipulate to turn against their targets.
My deep connection with and commitment to my clients combined with my extensive training in several modalities of therapy helps clients learn and use their new skills to gain control over their thoughts and feelings so they may better manage their problems. The journey of healing, recovery, wisdom, wellness, and resilience is challenging and rewarding.
