It is not always easy separating our personal lives from our professional lives when the boundaries we try to maintain in order to excel in both spheres often bleed into each other. You want to bring the best of yourself to all facets of your life, but when issues such as substance abuse, depression, marital strife, family problems, & conflicts with co-workers are so prevalent, how do we cope? What do we do with our mental and emotional baggage? How do we remain balanced and calm when the world we live in demands so much of us?
I believe that to succeed in our work and personal lives we must create and maintain self-care regimens as well as strong communication skills. I use cognitive behavioral therapy because I believe we must acknowledge the way we perceive ourselves, others, and the world around us. Because I understand how busy we are I also utilize solution focused therapy.
I too am an ambitious professional with experience dealing with workplace stressors, while simultaneously creating a private life. I know how exhausting these endeavors can be and I know the toll they can take. I want my clients to be selfish for 55 minutes so they can manage their inner worlds in order to succeed in their external worlds.
