I believe it is important to meet people where they are and that everyone has the potential to grow. Sometimes it just takes a little extra support in order for people to get to a place where they can enjoy life more completely and feel good about themselves. When working with my clients I use a combination of psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral approaches. I offer comprehensive counseling for adults and adolescents and have worked extensively with anxiety disorders, depression, ADHD, self-confidence issues, loss/grief, and relationship difficulties.
By focusing on communication, decision making, and problem solving techniques my clients are able to decrease depressive symptoms, improve relationships and self esteem. I also use behavioral strategies to help clients reduce anxiety and improve organization/time-management skills. Clients can then use these skills and strategies to successfully tackle and overcome obstacles independently.
Therapy is most effective when the client feels comfortable and at ease. I have a down to earth approach and am prepared to join my clients in a health partnership that will enable them to grow and achieve both personal and professional goals.
