My goal, with my clients is to improve their overall quality of life. This incudes the removal of debilitating symptoms like depression, anxiety stress, and obsessions.. But is also means achieving positive goals such as life satisfaction, curiosity, creativity, open-mindedness, and the relational capacity for love. To function as a complete person we must cultivate health in body, mind and spirit. Through empathic eyes i see the great potential in those I work with, and form a caring partnership to ignite their possibilities. I see myself as therapist, teacher and coach.
I practice Contemplative Psychotherapy. This is a synthesis of the psychoanalytic psychotherapy in which I was originally trained, and a twenty five year history studying comparative religions including Buddhist Meditation, Kaballah, and mystical traditions. I also have been a lifelong athlete, hiker -climber, and student of nutrition..
I have a 40 year practice history: MA and PhD in Clinical Psychology, MA in Comparative Religions. National Board Certifications (ABPP) in Clinical and Forensic Psychology. I have over 20 publications, and have taught Psychology and Comparative Religions at a University level.
