Hello! My name is Michael Peachey, MAMFT and I am the founder of Shalom Counseling. Though I am trained to see a wide range of clients, I specialize in marriage and couples therapy as well as family therapy. I am excited to get to know you, and to work with you to come up with the best plan to tackle whatever problems you are facing in life! I do not specialize in simply "giving advice", rather I want to walk with you as you look at issues in your life so that there can be healing and wholeness.
As a Marriage and Family Therapist, I am specially trained in doing therapy with couples and families. I like to work with couples to work through conflict/pain, improve communication, and increase emotional intimacy. I also work with people to resolve family conflict, and improve the way a family functions.
I take a systemic view of therapy which involves not only looking at the individual, but also the family and community around the individual that may play a role in the maintenance of problems. I take into account other factors such as faith, family of origin, trauma, and life stages, in therapy.
