Hi, I'm Jaime - therapist, parent coach and author of 'Tummy Troubles', a book for children who are afraid of throwing up. I specialize in treating children, teens and young adults struggling with anxiety, OCD and specific fears/phobias. Parenting an anxious child can be very challenging! Our children's anxiety, OCD and specific fears/phobias can cause us to believe we are doing something wrong. Even worse, it can cause our children to feel like they are as well. Our child's anxiety can make everyday tasks, like going to school, extremely difficult. Family life can become disrupted and parenting can feel overwhelming and stressful.
The good news is that with effective treatment your child can heal. Exposure Response Prevention (ERP), a form of CBT, is the gold standard of treatment for helping children/teens overcome anxiety, specific fears and phobias. Virtual Reality Exposure Therapy offers an accessible and effective way to engage children/teens in ERP in/out of the office setting.
