She received her Master's degree in Social Work from Norfolk State University in Virginia. Julie practiced for over 13 years in Virginia. She specializes in trauma (childhood sexual abuse, domestic violence, posttraumatic stress, etc.) and is certified as a trauma specialist. Julie works with children, adolescents, adults and seniors. Julie is a military spouse and enjoys working with military members and/or their family. Julie provides individual, marital and family counseling.

The coronavirus is continuing to impact our communities, as a therapist, I am very concerned about the mental health, well-being and safety of our families, friends and neighbors. Most of my clients are from a conservative religious background, but this is not a must. We see clients that have a range of personal beliefs and values. We meet regularly with individuals and couples. Meeting as a couple is not a must. Individuals dealing with sexual dysfunction or out-of-control sexual behavior/addiction that are not in a committed relationship are also welcomed in treatment. We also have a Spanish speaking therapist.

With over 30 years experience, I specialize in medication management. After a complete evaluation, we will create a treatment plan just for you that addresses your mental health needs. My services include evaluation, medication management and brief counseling in a 30 minute session. If you need longer, more intensive therapy or already have a counselor and just need the medication component, I will refer or work together with your current counselor to get you what you need. Telepsych available which we will be utilizing until it is safe and most likely ongoing.
