| español I have been in this field since 1996 and specialized in working in a variety of settings with children and young adults (ages 2-19), adults, couples, families, individuals and groups. I currently specialize in the treatment of trauma and work primarily with adults. Trauma affects the brain and the body, causing all sorts of problems for the individual, including (but not limited to) the following: Borderline Personality Disorder, loss of control, rage, anxiety, anger, depression, self-injurious behaviors, the inability to focus and concentrate, imagine and plan a future for themselves, trust others and form relationships.
I am a bilingual Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida (MH 10876), a Licensed Professional Counselor in Pennsylvania (PC003364) and a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia (0701010754). I am a National Certified Counselor (NCC 78353), a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional Level II: CCTP I & II: 742109 and Certified in Traumatic Stress Studies.
The impact of trauma varies by individual. My goal is to help my clients find a path to growth and healing, to identify "Facts over Feeling", focus on interventions that help them feel calm, safe and internally connected; which can help them tolerate the unbearable emotions they have been carrying inside and ultimately access the trauma beneath the surface.
