Everyone has problems. Pretending to be fine when you're not is exhausting. When you meet with me, you don't have to keep up any pretenses. You can take your mask off. We can get into what is really underneath your suffering. If you're like most human beings, there's probably a lot of fear and shame related to trauma and troubled relationships. Chances are you are struggling with an addiction of some form or another. The path to greater mental and emotional health can often feel like a steep mountain trail that never ends. It can help to have an experienced guide to help you along the way!
I take a very practical and collaborative approach to counseling. We will work together to figure out why you are struggling and what tools you need to move forward. I pull from many different evidence-based theories to guide me including ACT, CBT, EMDR, EFT, and the Gottman Method. I also rely on God to help inspire me on how best to help.
You don't need to face this world alone. Even if you have loving friends and family willing to listen, counseling is a whole different experience. It's a set apart time to work on yourself without the burden of other's feelings, judgments, and sometimes indiscretion. This is your space!
