The hardest part about therapy is having to deal with those thoughts, feelings, and memories we've been pushing aside for so long. What makes it even harder, are our fears of being judged for who we are, what we've gone through, or how we've acted. I strive to create a space where you feel comfortable being your true self. I do this by showing you genuine compassion, empathy, and understanding as we work through the tougher stuff. As such, I work with children, teens, families, and adults whose social, academic/work, behavioral, physical, and/or emotional well-being has been negatively impacted by ongoing mental health struggles.

I have experience working with children, adolescents, and their families. I see children as young as 3 years old and adolescents up to 17 years old. I specialize in working with individuals who have issues with trauma, anger, ADHD, anxiety, depression, parenting, religious trauma, and relationship/attachment issues.

Vulnerability is the strength that makes us humanly genuine. Through a non-judgmental and culturally sensitive lens, we will work together to uncover and build upon your resilience. I am here to empathically support your therapeutic journey and when you feel comfortable, I will gently challenge your preconceptions about yourself and the world around you. Hello! I do not believe in a “one size fits all” approach to therapy but rather a collaborative process between myself and individuals or families that I work with. I utilize cognitive behavioral therapy with other approaches to fit the individual needs of my clients. I view behaviors as communication. I love working with children and their families to understand those behaviors and learn better forms of communication while building healthy relationships and finding creative solutions that support the whole family. I also have experience working with individuals, young adults and the LGBTQIA+ community.

Yo! I’m Payton, I’m an openly queer + nonbinary human and my pronoun are they/she! I think that humans are the coolest. My philosophy as an Identity Doula + Healing Practitioner takes into consideration that every human and every situation is different, thus unique tools and approaches are required for unique people and things. Sessions with me will go beyond standard talk therapy, as it is my personal and professional opinion that humans often heal with art, movement, visuals, embodiment, activities, and music better than they do with standard talk therapy alone. For 31 years we've designed programs for students planning careers in medicine, engineering, law, pharmacy, technology, research, science and education. Our Portfolio Program is a comprehensive advising system for students throughout high school until they depart for university studies. It covers high school course selection, standardized testing and timetable, preparation for college visits and interviews, final college/university choice, types of aid and assistance seeking financing, and "goodness of fit" in college selection. Services include SAT, SATII and ACT test preparation.
