Boozhoo. Hello, my name is Danika. I believe that we heal through building a relationship with ourselves and others. In community, we can co-create our lives and offer encouragement and strength to ourselves and others. I connect with a collaborative and narrative therapeutic environment that offers space and safety for us to co-explore your world and relationships.

Everyone has a story to tell and needs someone who will listen. My priority is to give you a safe place to share that story without judgement. I believe that you are the expert on your own life and will work to meet you where you are at. I utilize a strengths-based approach to help you work on personal growth and the goals that are important to you. I specialize in working with individuals who are struggling with anxiety, self-esteem, life transitions, high stress, and trauma. I am passionate about working with individuals who are a part of the LGBTQIA+ community and teens and young adults working to transition to adulthood.

I enjoy working with clients who aim to live their life in congruence with their values. They may notice themselves making decisions over and over again and think, “Why am I doing this? This isn’t me.” I appreciate when people put themselves out there and reflect on how to get unstuck.

My ideal client is a teen, adult, or couple that is in need of communication work, reframing and refocusing thoughts, or in need of asssistance with anxiety. I enjoy working with individuals who are motivated on their journey to healthier mental practices and those seeking assistance.

I believe therapy is a great place to start when you’re feeling stuck and/or wanting to make a change in your life. Therapy is a great way to help you identify the obstacles in your life and give you the courage to meet those obstacles head-on in a safe and supportive environment. The space provided in therapy can also help break out of your old and unproductive ways of coping; this can lead to new and exciting ways to living your life. Dr. Beran is a licensed Clinical Psychologist who has been providing evidence-based psychological care to individuals for the last 17 years. She received her PhD from the nation’s most highly rated clinical psychology program, UCLA, where she gained extensive experience helping people with anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, chronic illness, trauma, and grief. A firm believer that academic knowledge is only part of what makes a quality therapist, Dr. Beran combines her in-depth psychological training with warmth, humor, and affection for her clients.

I work with a multitude of people from different backgrounds and goals. However, the ones that I find I have the most successful relationships with are young adults in their 20s-30s dealing with transitions into emerging adulthood. We are constantly bombarded with the push to be perfect (supermom, money mindset, 75 hard etc.) But why run yourself into the ground when you can live by your values and be your most authentic self? Hello! I am so excited to work with you on your treatment goals. I received my Bachelors and Masters of Social Work degrees from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee, where I studied and practiced Trauma-Informed care, Person-Centered treatment approaches and Solution-Focused therapies. I also have experience using Motivational Interviewing, Crisis Stabilization and Intervention, Psychodynamic Therapy, Mindfulness, and Emotion-Regulation practices.

Trained as a somatic & transpersonal psychotherapist, my work is rooted in the development and application of transformational techniques for healing and growth. Clients often report experiencing significant personal breakthroughs around life-long challenges. Finding acceptance for where we are and what we're dealing with in life opens the door to creating the life we want and know is possible.

Navigating and healing from difficult life events can leave you feeling lost or overwhelmed. Together, we can build more resilient ways to relate to yourself and those important to you.
