We are systems therapist. What that means is: we like to approach problems that people have within the context of social, political and cultural storylines that influence the way we view ourselves and our own personal stories. We use this same approach in family therapy to seek ways to change the way the family system works rather than trying to "fix" a specific family member.

Traumatic and stressful experiences can range from childhood traumas to a single event like a car accident, the loss of a loved one, or a diagnosis of a chronic disease. Healing the emotional pain of past trauma begins with acknowledgement in a safe space. It is never easy but sharing your experiences, thoughts, and feelings can lead to relief, new perspectives on yourself, your relationships, your goals, and your zest for life. Our goal is to create that safe space for you to understand, process, and heal past trauma and stress so that you can truly live life in the present with self understanding, self acceptance and self care.

My agency works with clients of all ages to define their goals for therapy. We work collaboratively with physicians, social workers, teachers etc., to implement the most effective treatment possible. Client problems come in all shapes and sizes, with all kinds of different life experiences and reasons and needs. Problems are common in the world, and it is hard to shoulder the responsibilities set on our shoulders. It can feel lonely with the burden that people carry, and it seems reasonable to find ways to meet needs that are not being met. Sometimes these can be unhealthy habits that just cause more problems.
