My name is Shanna Dominguez and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. You may be experiencing worry, fear, anxiety, depression, or a variety of other emotions. Good news, those emotions can be managed, I believe there are two experts in the room: You are the expert of your life and I am the clinical expert. I have had the privilege of working with adults, couples, and adolescents. I use a variety of techniques and theories to guide my work with you depending on what fits your needs. I specialize in CBT and DBT methods. As humans, we not only want to feel understood, but we want to understand ourselves & why we do the things we do.

Life can be difficult for everyone, but it becomes even more so when you struggle to get out of bed, can't stop worrying about if you've made a friend angry or if something bad is going to happen, trigger flashbacks, or any other plethora of symptoms you might experience because of a mental health issue. I'm here to help individuals understand their mental health and cope with the symptoms so they can take back their lives and live them to their fullest.

I believe that compassion and empathy are essential in understanding others. As a counselor, I am client centered and provide space that is welcoming and open. I take a holistic and individualized approach when working with clients and utilize a variety of interventions based on client needs. I have a passion for supporting LGBTQIA+ members and anyone navigating mood and anxiety disorders.

I am an ally for the LGBTQIA+ community and a strong supporter of equality in all of its aspects. I believe everyone is a person, and every person needs to be cared for, validated, and supported throughout whatever they are facing in their life. My preference is to focus on the LGBTQIA+ population, mainly because I do not think there is enough allies in the counseling field that have this preference in populations. My goal, is to be a support and assist clients to enable them to make positive changes in their lives. I want them to feel heard and respected, regardless of the issue or struggle they are facing.
