My name is Carrie Allen (she/her), and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). I graduated with a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2016. Being a therapist is my first career, and I cannot see myself doing anything else. "Trauma is personal. It does not disappear if it is not validated. Trauma creates feelings of helplessness and hopelessness, of shame and guilt, and of being so lost in the darkness that it feels like there is no end and no way out. I provide therapy with individuals from various socio-economic, cultural, ethnic, educational and other diversified backgrounds. With over 18 years’ experience in the mental health field, I provide support and practical feedback to help you effectively address the challenges you are facing in your life. With compassion and understanding, I work with you to help you build on your strengths and attain the personal growth you are committed to accomplishing. Much of my job is to ask you questions you may not have asked yourself, to help you think about yourself and your problems in a new way.

I have a passion for working with adults who have survived difficult situations or past experiences. I have experience working as a first responder and spent many years in the military. I use this knowledge and experience to mold the treatments I use to best serve anyone who has faced difficult or insurmountable situations in the past. I work with those who have concerns with traumatic history, anxiety, depression, or just looking to understand themselves better. I completed my residency at Vanderbilt University and served as an expert consultant for NBC's Today Show. As a psychologist, I have the opportunity to help people understand and navigate very difficult situations.
