I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor who has been providing mental health treatment for over 25 years. I received my BA in Psychology from Montclair State University and my MSW in social work from Marywood University. I hold certifications in addictions treatment, forensic social work and motivational enhancement/cognitive behavioral therapy. Considered a "subject matter expert" in the modality of telehealth, all of my sessions are held with my client's safety and wellbeing a first priority.

I have worked with crime victims, forensics, mental health and addiction. Although it’s always combined my passion has been to help you heal from trauma and PTSD because I have seen the results, you can live a happy and functional life with most the systems and without feeling depressed, anxious or traumatized. We specialize in treating first responders and anyone with any issue In life that you want to evolve from. We use a holistic approach to healing within.

Getting to the root of your pain, learning to deal with it, building upon your strengths then learning to act versus react to people and events is the goal of our approach. We have a long history of working with diverse populations, who have developed varied problems: Mental Health, Substance Abuse, Marital, Parenting, Occupational, grief and more Our approach is to work with your strengths; help you to develop new views and skills and then organize them into a plan that works in obtaining your goals. As a young adult I sought out counseling to help me navigate my life's issues. It felt most beneficial when a therapist, by listening and understanding me, in a nonjudgmental, supportive and educational way, seemed to meet me where I was at both emotionally and mentally- giving me hope, the tools, the time and the motivation I needed to heal.These healing experiences gave me the desire to help others. Thus following their positive examples, I have approached everyone's treatment on an individual basis- knowing everyone is different emotionally and mentally, and are coming from different life experiences.

My passion consists of helping clients overcome addictions of all kinds, obsessive thinking, OCD, impulse control issues, anxiety and panic issues. I enjoy helping clients find their power and achieve results by taking control over their thoughts. I accomplish this through the use of cognitive behavioral therapy techniques to identify and target negative thought patterns, which leads to unwanted feelings and behaviors.

While other programs claim to be 'trauma-informed', our practice revolves entirely around trauma therapy. This is what we do best. The Phoenix Center for Experiential Trauma Therapy is named after the legendary figure of the phoenix that dies and is reborn from its own ashes – it is a symbol of transformation and resilience. I graduated from New York University with a Masters degree in Social Work. I am a licensed Clinical Social Worker for the State of New York and Pennsylvania. I also received my credentials to work in the field Substance Abuse and Alcohol abuse for the State of New York. I've been a therapist for over 25 years. I have experience working in the field of Substance Abuse and Mental Health. I've worked with adults, children, and adolescents. I've also worked with families of substance abusers.

Dr. Weicker was originally trained as a medical doctor " La Sapienza" University of Rome Italy in 1988. After moving to the United States in 1989, she embarked upon a new career in brain and colon cancer research at RI Hospital- Brown University for 4 years and a Thomas Jefferson for 2 years. Dr. Weicker also has been a College Professor in Anatomy and Physiology Pathophysiology, Nutrition and Herbs and Medicine college courses for 20 years, Penn State, Alvernia University, and Lehigh Carbon Community College. She has since earned a Master's Degree in Health Care from Alvernia University in 2004
